Corporate Social Responsibility, or “CSR”, refers to the practice of corporate self-regulation applied to the people and communities in which a company operates. The intent of Corporate Social Responsibility is to demonstrate commitment to shared social values that are associated with being a good corporate neighbor or citizen. Areas of responsibility typically associated with CSR include:
- philanthropy (charitable and workplace giving programs),
- employee engagement,
- sustainability (impact on the environment), and
- governance (regulatory, legal, ethical operations).
