A term used often in CSR work, but sometimes misunderstood, a stakeholder is a person, group or organization that has an interest or concern in another organization or enterprise.

In a workplace giving context, stakeholders would include the company, its leadership, employee-donor, and recipient charity. In the context of Corporate Social Responsibility, the number of stakeholders is increased to include customers, suppliers, shareholders, government and more, as depicted in the diagram.
