PAC Matching

The term “PAC” refers to a Political Action Committee, a staple of many larger corporations used as a vehicle to lobby government officials. PAC Matching is a program where a company will make a donation on behalf of an employee (the “match”) in exchange for the employee making a donation to the company PAC. Typically the employee chooses the charity to receive the match. These programs exist to encourage employee response to PAC solicitations, since giving to a PAC is not tax deductible.
